Leigh Lester
NSREA Board MemberLeigh Lester is Founder and Executive Director of the Ubuntu Institute of Learning, which focuses on affordable housing, education and training, and equity. Her background spans more than 25 years in affordable housing, housing counseling, training, strategic partnerships, and work with government and nonprofit organizations, and includes mortgage banking.
In 2024 HUD appointed her to the Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee for a three-year term beginning in January 2025. She has participated in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's Project REACh, including appraisal-bias work. She chaired the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of The Appraisal Foundation and has been a member of its Board of Trustees since a term beginning in 2021.
Her session connects fair housing, affordable housing, homeownership, consumer confidence and community development.
